About

PatientView gives patients secure access to results from their healthcare records, along with information about their diagnosis and treatments.  More info on our Home page.

FlorasFace_thumbHow to Use PatientView has its own page (its features are also described there)

PatientView has been developed using public and charity funding with the goodwill and trust of patients, staff, and many others.  The project is for the benefit of patients and better care, and maintains a collaborative, non-profit ethos. It began as a Renal community project, and remains under the auspices of the UK Renal Association (renal.org). See more on the history and background to the project on our History page (see also Timeline).

Supporting all specialties

In the light of slow progress elsewhere, in 2012/13 we moved to seriously considering whether PatientView should offer a route for others to provide a similar service.  We had informally been giving advice to other specialties and organisations for many years.  Pilots in Inflammatory Bowel Disease and Diabetes were successful so we have now moved to a position where we are now able to offer a practical service too.  See Becoming a Partner.

Open source

PatientView software is open source and can be downloaded from github.  However we do offer to provide a service for others on a no-profit basis.  See becoming a partner.

Intellectual property

Those involved directly in PatientView assign any relevant intellectual property rights to the project and will not seek to register copyrights or patents or to develop a marketable product for their personal gain.  This is in line with statements published in Para 8i by the National Council for Voluntary Organisations on how benefits should be ‘shared by the wider community’.

Where services are delivered on the internet, this sometimes involves placing small amounts of information on your device, for example, computer or mobile phone. We only use this information for statistical analysis purposes. These cookies do not give us access to your computer or any additional information about you. More detailed info about cookies from Google.  Reading this (rixg.org/patientview2) website will work if you have cookies disabled.  However the PatientView site itself (www.patientview.org) requires cookies in order to keep you logged in and to navigate between pages (you can read PatientView’s Privacy Notice here).
